Most new build properties in Poland are offered as shell finish, which means interior walls are usually left plastered but not painted and there are no floor coverings, no kitchen or bathroom fittings.

This is the Polish way to buy new properties. It is partly as a result of the communist era when property interiors were dictated by the state, Polish nationals now want to make their own choices and partly financial, as it enables them to do much of the work themselves.

This provides the property investor with options - offer the property for sale unfinished and let the buyer finish the property or add value by finishing the property. investpolska can arrange finishing through the property developer or a specialist finishing company - of course the option remains for the property investor to undertake the work themselves and add even greater value.

VAT on buying new build property in Poland directly from the property developer is due to increase from 7% to 22% in the Spring of 2010, this will create an immediate increase in re-sale value for anyone buying property in Poland before this period.

Poland also intends to enter the Euro Zone in the coming years which in the past has always had a positive effect on property prices.
